« on: October 06, 2012, 12:25:52 AM »

Changes:

- Fixed bug that would freeze the game when loading a new objective from the script file (temporary script file wasn’t created when loading a game, only when starting new game).

 – Fixed rare crashing bug when drawing the character selection border.

 – Fixed patrolling AIs being stopped indefinitely by a locked door.

 – Fixed issue that would make inventory items disappear if you tried to use them on something they can’t be used on.

 – Higher chance of player hitting target when shooting (non-aimed).

 – Player aiming/shooting animations won’t get interrupted when taking damage.

 – Balancing of damage given when shooting.

 – Damage dealt shown.

 – You can now also rotate the map with Q and E.

I really like that the player's aim is no longer reset when taking damage. That makes gun fights much more balanced. I can usually survive a fight or two now against guards.

I have a question about the pistol. The sniper rifle improves aim and does a good deal of damage so I see its appeal. The machine gun fires multiple rounds at once, dealing lots of damage if the player aims it properly. Does the pistol have a feature that makes it better than other weapons? I tried it out a few times and at first glance it doesn't appear to have any clear advantage over the other weapons. Is there a situation where a player might want to use a pistol rather than a machine gun?

Possibly pistols are much quieter and can be concealed more easily.  Firepower is not the only advantage a weapon can have.

Mind you, as long as you hide it in your pocket a guard won't care about you carrying a sniper rifle.  :)

The current pistols are mostly just for guards to carry around. I'll be adding pistols with silencers in the future, which will make them a lot more useful.
