I just did a fresh install, and the slowness remains.  Is there something wrong with .72?

I've got Asciisec in one folder and a copy in another.  I downloaded .72 and copied the files over my base Asciisec, and games run out of that folder run really slowly.  Games run out of the copy (.71) run just fine.  Has anyone else experienced a slowdown?  Did I install .72 incorrectly?

Thanks so much.  You can tell I love your game--I've been playing it for a month and a half!  Now I need to try the Quests...

I haven't a clue how to use Cheat Engine, but "teach a man to fish" and all that.  If it's not overly challenging, if you tell me what to do, I can fix it. :)

I jumped out of the system and jumped back.  He's still there.  Everyone else is reset.

Anyone know how much of a setback it'll deal to my fixer rep?  :(

On Basin in Loye system, I am supposed to deliver something to a character--who is in that isolated building with one pixel of clearing around it.  There's no way to get to him.  I have tried launching and landing in the hopes it will re-deploy the people, but he's still there.  What do I do?

It seemed like everything was running more slowly  I particularly noticed it in the autopilot.

I couldn't tell if it was a fleet--there were several draymans and a zillion Talons :)

I've noticed that the game is getting slower and slower the more I play it.  Not in a single session, but in a single campaign.  I'm wondering if there are more and more ships being generated.  I popped into TC-101, and there were DOZENS of pirates in the asteroid belt.  I don't know if I could ever clean them out...

Will it still be top-down like ASCII Sector, or 1st-person like the original Privateer?

I like the simplicity of the top-down.  I like how you can speed through the dull parts, too (i.e. autopilot).  One big problem with current games is the need to slog through everything at a slow speed.  Like in an MMO, you have to walk from place to place, and there's no fast forward.  I hate that.  I prefer the old games where you just skipped the non-eventful stuff easily.

If I want to walk, I'll go to the store! :)

I get scanned all the time, and I have max friendly status.  I do have $9000 in fines, though.  Accidental scan running.

Yeah, when I was flying Drayman I had just few missions with net income c.a. 200k. It was very rare to find mission that allow to fill up Drayman's cargo hold. Once I've transported over 1200 Gems ("Transport Mission")... but I had to buy it for ridiculous big price (not at "a producer") so an income was relative small. I skipped "commodity events" back then so I don't know what can be achieved in this way.

Drayman is good for hunting pirates for their potential cargo (especially when 202 units of hidden compartment were installed). With 20 EMPT player is able to disable up to 20 ships (at best). If 5 of them had full cargo then player can get (together with equipment and money loot) c.a. 50k-80k (depends on "contraband"). This ship could be excellent for such task if one of available upgrades was "munition store"... or even Disabler Cannon. :heh:


Is it possible to buy a hidden compartment if the pirates hate you?

I have had legit missions pay 60K in profit at least.
