Help please (New gpu)
« on: December 28, 2015, 12:22:59 AM »
I assume some people here are experienced with computers and more than me, so i have this old 2.66 Ghz dualcore intel computer with 4gb Ram and used an ati radeon hd 5450 gpu. But my irl brother just gave me a  gtx 550 ti zotac edition graphic card and i used to have a 300w power supply we changed it for a 650w power supply to handle this new gpu. The old gpu drivers were uninstalled and i installed this new graphic card, it is even detected and everything and i even ordered the bios to go pci-e ext for it to make sure it works and i used programs such as speccy and gpu-z to detect it and see the temp√©ratures and everything is fine. But i can't even play Skyrim anymore i get like 3 fps or Something and even 2d games lag like hell for me now and if i leave my computer turned on for like 10-15 minutes it goes uber slow and laggy not only games. Is there a problem with my gpu or is it my processors that can't handle it ? My motherboard should handle it it's 16x and that's the requirement for the gpu too. I'm out of my mind and been trying to figure this out for many hours now. Help please!

Edit: Windows 7 32-bit

Maybe this will help:

While installing Nvidia drivers choose "custom" (with "clean install" option) and don't install 3D-shitthings nor "Geforce Experience".
