Is the shaking really that bad?  Granted, my character has really high pistol skills, but even at a pretty large range the spread between the three shots is pretty tight.

I just tested this on a few new character. I bought a laser gun and shot somebody from two squares away, doing my best to aim for the center of the body.  All 3 of my shots hit on the torso still in a pretty tight spread.  One time there was even another person with a laser gun for comparison, and he shot my clavicle and kneecap in one volley, though I don't remember whether I might have hit his arm.

The first one starts off with a little info showing my opponent and myself, then gets to the action.  For the most part my opponent just misses in this one though.
The second one, all the sudden there's a second guy with a laser gun there, so I let the two people shoot at me a bit here.  They're not both at 2 squares range the whole time though, but still pretty close.

If NPCs aren't aiming all their shots, then it seems like they have far more wobble than a fresh unskilled PC.  Something odd seems to be going on, anyway.

This may not really qualify as a bug, but it seems odd enough to be worth mentioning.  It might make sense if it was a transport from A to B mission, but for a delivery mission it's strange.   I went to the base without accepting the mission, and sure enough there wasn't any iron.  I was kind of hoping I could buy the iron right there and complete the mission :hehe:

But yeah, I think delivery missions shouldn't be for one of the base's prime export.

I can't rule out that the couple of NPCs I've fought are just terrible shots, but I sort of doubt it :crazy:  From 2 squares away his laser gun can hit both of my arms; his shooting arm is unscathed.  In other tests, I've been hit on my arm, the crotch area of my kevlar vest, and my head in a single volley.  So yeah, something's up.

I think the feature was delayed because it would give the player an easy way to raid pirates, and without buying disabler missiles.

Afraid a little danger?

Use low speed settings, and take cover in the asteroids.  Take them out one at a time, and use missiles liberally (just make sure to lock on or shoot from point blank range).  It requires good armor and a repair bot and nanomachines to keep you in top shape for any future pirates, but it's not too difficult if you do it carefully.  Assuming nothing relevant has changed since 0.6.3ish.

I remember I had issues getting wifi to work under Ubuntu.  I think tried Ndiswrapper, but I can't remember if that was what fixed it or not.

The bounty from above was against a Retro, and I got that on my first try, though my Tarsus was very banged up.  This recorded one against a pirate took me about 5 tries, but I took little damage.

And of course you should expect Tarsus vs Capship movies as soon as I get those missions.  That will take a lot more strategy than this one, since I'll have to deal with the turrets.  But that just makes it all the more exciting.

The glorious death part should take all of.... 2 seconds after entering the enemy's firing range. :lol:
I plan on taking advantage of my laser's large range to maybe take its shields down a few notches before that happens.  I'm hoping they won't decide to just ram me, because that would be very anticlimactic.  Of course, I first have to get to that level in the mercenary's guild...
