Yeah sorry, I wrote the quest at a time when there were less bases in the ASCII Sector universe so the riddle is totally misleading now. I ought to update it. The place you're supposed to go to is BPD-89.

Maybe an option to talk yourself out of an aggressive action that was actually an accident would be a good option, but IMO it could affect the gameplay negatively if you could do it all the time and maybe even make a strategy out of it. Not being careful about where your stray shots impact SHOULD have negative consequences, potentially even very negative ones.

I'd suggest something like a hidden variable that tracks how often you've had friendly fire incidents and then sets your options accordingly. Something like:

-1 incident within the last say 10 hours gameplay and the faction you've fired at is very friendly towards you: You can just say sorry and they'll let you be.

-2 incidents within 10 hours, very friendly faction attitude: You have to apologize between 2-3 times and you may or may not have to pay a fine of 500 credits.

-3 incidents in 10 hours and very friendly attitude: Pay some money and your reputation with this faction suffers a little.

-2 incidents within 10 hours and neutral faction attitude: They'll demand a considerable amout of money or they'll attack.

-3 incidents within 10 hours and neutral attitude: They'll fight you whatever you say.

Etc... you get the idea.

Do you bump on people on the streets and they offer you to sell drugs? I think that doesn't happen that often.

Oh it happens. Maybe not to you. Do you look like a cop?

- unique items that are very hard to come by (and only rumored to exist)

That's what custom quests are for.

Otherwise, some interesting ideas. Though if it were my decision, I wouldn't give the Kilrathi (or Retros, for that matter) any "home" worlds or fixed bases. I think their incursions need to be more or less unpredictable and their numbers / strength / strategies a mystery.

Though I hear Admin is slightly different plans for a future phase of his project.

Maybe it'll be good to add info about available ships. I mean in Quine, in "Trade" tab (under "imports and exports informations").

Is so much information really necessary? Having to land a few times when looking for something specific before finally finding it can be more rewarding than having all the info right before you even start to think about what you want and how to get it... IMO

Wow how cool is that!

Guess I'll have to re-visit my quest writing quest :)

...when I have time, which won't be before Semptember.

If you leave the 'Lady with 1000 Credits more than what you had when you landed, the guards in the entry will talk to you trying to dare you to stay.

If you leave with 5000 Credits more than what you had when you landed, the guards and the Orions escorting will attack you.

Not sure if it's a good idea though  :D

Cool that you're still on it, Juju! You're doing well with your LP. Just two or three remarks about your most recent episodes:

1.: Once you get an Orion and start to play some quests and more advanced missions, you won't be sick of the game but the real fun will only begin.

2.: When navigating the asteroid fields, remember that you can also shoot the asteroids (as long as you have some energy left for the gun).

3.: That big ship you were admiring on the prison station is a confed capital ship, a Paradigm class destroyer. You can't buy one of these, but there's always one floating around near the Loye Naval Base if you're looking for a fight.

BTW, the easier ones of the Quests as well as some of the somewhat more advanced types of missions are already winnable at your level. You don't HAVE to wait for a better ship if you're curious.

Good quest. Even better than the first. I had to be a bit sneaky with the on-ground battle this time around. I like how you can avoid battles if you want. I couldn't figure out how to make the game recognize that I had a certain item in my inventory at the end... I even looked through the source. Oh well, it doesn't matter.

Event : ItemAcquired : Panty (ruined)
      Result : Variable : Panty : 2
Event : ItemLost : Panty (ruined)
      Result : Variable : Panty : 0
      Event : ItemAcquired : Panty
      Result : Variable : Panty : 1
      Event : ItemLost : Panty
      Result : Variable : Panty : 0

...then set different dialogue for different values of the variable.

Cool, good job JuJu (if you're reading this).

If you're planning on doing more parts, I'd suggest you play a few hours further until you have an Orion with afterburner, radar and a better gun. A membership in both guilds would also be good. Then you could show some more mission types, and playing the Kilrathi Hunt quest would also be great to see what kind of stories this game can tell when not in "free exploration" mode.

Mmmmhh, Drew Barrymore is soooo wonderful!

Very sweet... First time playing AS in 4 months or so, the improvements are neat. Haven't checked out boarding ships yet but already visited the 'Lady. Nice place.

I also like that the ship is a "no-weapons" zone...

If you don't mind becoming a criminal, a quick way to get hold of that money would be rob-killing some pedestrians...

Gameplay-wise, I think it makes sense that "tricking yourself around obstacles" should take some time. In my opinion, adding stuff to the autopilot that helps you doing this would make it too easy - in the end, players wouldn't navigate through annoying asteroid fields anymore at all.
